Someone in Muncie, Indiana with more money than I is having a very good day today.
Happened upon four 2020 Corvettes on a transporter today.
I observed the unloading process from a socially- safe distance, but was still close enough to hear the V8 of the white C8 destined for my local dealership burble to life.
From my quick glance, I think the design translates much better in person than it does in pictures. Maybe someday I’ll get to drive one? Who’s to say?
What do you guys think of the new C8 Corvette?

I just wish it had a manual.

That’s what I keep reading, that they look even better in person.

Who are you kidding? Even if you had one, you’d trade it for a CJ in decent condition. :p

I do want to see one in person, I’m trying to hold my comments until then. I will say, I’m impressed and not bothered by the options, specs and performance.
For a daily, I like the 8sp auto in my bi mmer and I imagine I'd be fine with the DCT in this.

Well, of course, but not before taking the C8 out for a road trip or three. Driving something that much fun that doesn’t require earplugs would be a welcome change.

Or a balaclava in this weather.
Can you imagine what our Corvette-driving friend would say if he saw you pull up in a C8?

I’ve seen a few in person. Any view that isn't from behind is okay, but the rear doesn't look any better in person than it does in photos.

I hear that too, but I have to say, I don’t see what everyone complains about the rear. It looks entirely in line with the rest of the design to me.

They had them at the car shows we installed, I personally think they are hideous. There were so many good artist renderings that were pretty doable and then this monstrosity showed up.

I just can’t wait to see what the Zo6/ZR1 of this will be like. Seems like it’s begging for a high-revving flat plane crank engine, but then again the twin-turbo kit Hennessey recently posted videos of looked pretty damn effective.

Probably going to be collectors items, or at least what young Gen Xers/older Millennials will consider collectors items and seal in plastic bubbles for 20 years; seeing as how the 2020 model year is the first since 1942 to be significantly abbreviated.

Agreed that it looks better in person. Got to see a bunch of them up close when Vajazzle and myself hit up Barrett Jackson earlier this year.

I’m gonna pop over to my local gm showroom in my Vette and see if they’ll let me drive one ( probably not)

very cool - have yet to see one in person. In pics they look really good in white. And apparently the 2021 models you can get w/o that kinda goofy little wing/spoiler which will make them even better.

As someone who i s generally a fan of visually loud things, I find it garish and poorly resolved .
